Perennial ryegrass has a very high forage value and must be used intensively. Due to its rapid youth development, it is ideally suited for overseeding. Perennial ryegrass is the leading grass in grassland and should at least be used as a mixing partner. The grass does not tolerate bare frost, very dry sites or long periods of snow cover. Perennial ryegrass is the most cultivated forage grass, which is reflected in the enormous differences in maturity groups, yield performance and forage quality.
